Y'all.  This session might take the cake for my favorite in-home session thus far in 2018.  Here are a couple of reasons why.  First, this is a repeat client of mine.  I love that I get to document my families growing and meet their new nuggets! Second, can we talk about adorable kids? They have the best eyes and hair!  Third, this kiddo slept.the.whole.time.  The whole time.  It might go down as one of the fastest sessions I've ever done.  Fourth, being a mom of boys myself, I do love some brotherly love! And lastly, this is the perfect example of how to have a lifestyle newborn session with an older toddler.  Little man did NOT want to have anything to do with pictures.  My attitude towards that is, cool.  Let's roll with it.  There is no point in forcing a young child to sit and look pretty.  That is not what they are made to do! So, in my sessions, I try to calm the parents nerves and say, "they'll get in some.. just wait.."  What this meant for this family was him playing in his play room and bringing them all sorts of fun cars, toys, and requesting snacks.  But, it was the inquisitive nature of this toddler that kept me snapping pics.  He lovedddd looking at his little brother.  By the end of the session, without prompting I might add, I had little brother in a crate and big bro just walks over and starts pointing at his toes.  He was saying how little his toes were and was trying to count them.  Then, he sat, and compared his toes to little brothers.  It was a.dor.able! And this is why I am a self-proclaimed "over shooter."  If I had just stopped and packed up my camera, I would have missed all of this! Love it!! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Thank you, Andres family, for continuing to allow me to capture these moments of your life!

The L Family's Story

At the beginning of the session, I was talking about how their little girl had the same due date as one of my other clients.  The mom exclaimed, "oh that's my friend!  We were texting about what to wear at our sessions!"  They both had a boy and a girl already and expecting their third child.  Neither delivered on the due date, but they both got sweet babes out of it! {their friend's session will be blogged soon!}  How crazy is that?!  One thing that I love about in home lifestyle sessions is being able to capture the sweet moments between siblings and their new baby brother/sister.  Not to mention, I always try to make sure I get some candid shots of older siblings since they are a part of the story too!  This family was a dream to work with, and I loved their light and airy home!  Congrats, L Family on your new addition!

Ahoy Carter! How cute is his nautical nursery?! This sweet boy spent his first two weeks on Earth in the NICU for a rare condition affecting his digestive tract.  After a few surgeries, lots of pin pricks, and tons of love, he is now at home and expected to thrive as normal.  His NICU necklace is just a reminder of all the battles he had to endure at such a young age.  This little fighter is already loved by his big sister who is ready to read him some books and play with his toys.   I was a bit jealous that she even has a pretend Starbucks coffee cup she was pretending to drink during our session. Ha!  The joys of lifestyle newborn session is capturing those surprise moments when siblings want to be a part of the action.  I always encourage parents to just let the session run as a normal day-in-the-life would... and sometimes they are some of my favorite images! Enjoy!

What a sweet newborn session this was! Her nursery was decorated in a cute Paris type theme and I loved the colors she chose.  Baby girl was super chill and hardly made a peep the whole session.  One of my favorite parts of lifestyle newborn sessions in the home is incorporating pets! Congratulations King family on your new addition!

This little cutie came early and we managed to do her in home lifestyle newborn session on her actual due date. She was the sweetest thing and didn't hardly make a peep the entire session. She did, however, love sticking her tongue out! Maybe she will be a jokester when she grows up. The beauty of an in home lifestyle session is the incorporation of pets and her big brother Bogey loved some attention and even managed to make it into some of their pictures. I love the colors of her nursery and the colors mom chose for her wrapped pictures. She is just precious in pink and purple (which I hear is because dad is an ECU fan!).
