Y’all. What even in the world?! Raleigh’s Best Photographer?

I still can’t believe it.

If you had told me years ago that my little dream — built on long days in the classroom and late nights at the computer, juggling five-day work weeks as a science teacher and weekends as a photographer (all while raising kids!) — would one day be named Raleigh’s Best Photographer by the News & Observer, I would’ve laughed and said, “yeah, right.” Yet here we are… and I’m still smiling every time I say it out loud.

This isn’t just an award to me. It’s a reflection of every single family who’s trusted me to capture their most precious moments — from sleepy newborns to giggly toddlers, from the chaos of family snuggles to those quiet, in-between moments that really show your family dynamics. You’ve let me into your lives, your homes, your milestones… and that means more to me than I can ever put into words.

When I started this business, my goal was simple: to create timeless, heartfelt portraits that families could cherish for generations. I never imagined that so many of you would connect with that vision and help it grow into what it is today. Your support, your referrals, your kind words — that’s what built this. Not me alone.

So, from the very bottom of my heart: thank you. Thank you for voting, for believing in me, for coming back year after year, and for letting me do what I love most. Raleigh is filled with so many talented photographers, and it’s an honor just to be part of this creative community.
