Raleigh Studio Newborn Session :: 5 week old newborn session :: Raleigh baby photography

Since moving into my studio, it has taken some time to get the hang of the new layout and lighting. I needed a newborn to practice on, and posted about it on social media. A new momma messaged me with a 5 week old baby (which is usually considered too old). I had an opening in my schedule so I thought, why not?! Not all babies can come in during that 8-12 day window, and sometimes we have to just roll with it. Come to find out, I taught this momma back in my teaching days! Small world! Her little baby girl had the most hair! She said the wives tales of indigestion definitely were true in her case. Since she is technically an “older” newborn, I didn’t expect her to get super curly or sleep much, but she proved me wrong! I was able to get some awesome shots of her and all her cute baby rolls. By the end, she was awake and could interact with me. This is one of the benefits of an “older” newborn session! I love being able to incorporate parents as well, even if they don’t feel photogenic, by just using their hands or arms to pose with baby. All of this to say, if you think you have missed the time frame for traditional newborn portraits, you haven’t! Reach out and let’s get you fit in ASAP!
