One thing that I love about my little town of Fuquay-Varina is the hometown feel of it. Sure, we have all the big box stores, and we have traffic… but we also still have such a quaint downtown. In fact, we have TWO downtowns. We have the Varina side, which is now popular with locals going to Aviator Brewing. And we have the Fuquay side, home to Fuquay Mineral Springs which has a rich history all of its own. I personally am a big fan of the Fuquay downtown because I love the mix of textures that comes from the park but also the old brick buildings. It gives a nice variety to sessions.

This downtown Fuquay family session was so fun - and hot - but mostly fun. I have been photographing baby Autumn since she was a newborn, and I actually taught her uncle in high school! When the family reached out wanting to give a session as a mother’s day gift, I was ecstatic! With a large family like this, it was important to make sure that we got images of the whole family, but also images of each individual family unit. Sometimes it helps to make a list of all the important shots so no one gets left out. For example:

• Whole family

• Adults of Immediate Family (ex: Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister)

• Adult Siblings (Brother, Sister) & Spouses

• Mom & Dad

• Grandparents & Grandkids

• Each family Separate

• Kids Only

That way, everyone can go home with some images to share & frame! The other images that I think are bonus images are what I consider “generation” images. I love to capture grandmas, with daughters, with granddaughters. It is such a special moment to have 3 generations (sometimes more!) in the same picture. Gifting this session to their mother was so perfect and now she has memories for a lifetime.

Oh, and Fuquay is sort of known to be the “Home of the Bengals,” so you will see these handprinted tigers throughout the town. Even the tigers are wearing a mask! #wearamask
