{milestone sunflower mini session} fuquay-varina sunflower session | raleigh baby photographer
Caroline is 10 months old! I cannot believe how time has flown by. And, it is July… July in North Carolina means a couple of things to me. First, it is hot & humid. People who are not from N.C. just do not understand how it can be 85 degrees and feel like a freaking sauna. The humidity is what gets you! And, it is humid from sun up to sun down I feel like! Second, watermelon. Gah, I love watermelon. If you don’t eat watermelon with salt sprinkled on top, I can’t be friends with you (just kidding.. but seriously, try that out.. game. changer.). And, third, sunflowers! They are so cheerful and beautiful! We were on our way to Emerald Isle a few weeks ago and there is a whole patch of sunflowers on the side of the road right before you cross the bridge. We were stuck in traffic, of course, and I jokingly told my husband I was going to jump out and take a picture with the sunflowers. I’m pretty sure if I had done that he would have locked the doors and started driving off just to make me look like even more of an idiot. Anyway, fast forward a few weeks and I’m seeing everyone’s sunflower pictures! Usually they plant a field of them at Dix Park in Raleigh and it is a HUGE attraction, but they didn’t plant them this year. The other thing about sunflowers is that they only bloom for so long. So, when you find a private field of sunflowers… you jump at the opportunity to take some pictures! I was lucky enough to get permission to visit this location in Fuquay so I could document Caroline and some of her newest tricks. She is standing unassisted by holding on to something and she responds to “how big is Caroline? SO BIG!” by putting her arms up in the air. We were only out at the field for probably 15-20 minutes and I took entirely too many pictures. But, I’m in love with every single one of them! It is so important for me to document these little milestones because she is changing every single day. I think one day I blinked and my boys were no longer toddlers - one is almost as tall as I am and our feet are the same size. I know it will be the same for her. In just 2 short months we will be celebrating her first birthday and I can’t wrap my head around that! Happy 10 months, “CC!”
