{sugg farm holly springs maternity session} :: amy carter photography | holly springs maternity photography

Sugg Farm in Holly Springs is one of my favorite places to photograph during “golden hour,” which is the hour prior to sunset. The colors are so vivid and warm, and I love the rustic feel of the property. Sugg Farm has tons of cool areas such as the field shown in the pictures below and also just tons of fencing that provides some awesome texture to images. This particular day was kind of chilly - February in North Carolina isn’t exactly warm. Her little girl at first was not really thrilled about having to take pictures and pretending she wasn’t freezing. But, as you’ll see.. she warmed up, literally and figuratively and really showed me her personality. One thing I absolutely love about this session is how gorgeous this maternity dress was! It was such a beautiful color and really made this momma look regal in her final weeks of pregnancy. I always suggest that maternity sessions are planned in the final trimester of pregnancy. This gives the “bump” ample time to grow and really become a focal point. I know the final weeks are tough - and you’re feeling less than slim - but that is why a gown like the one this mom chose is a wonderful option. It conceals swollen ankles (I know my ankles were HELLA swollen during my pregnancies), and it also gives your belly bump wonderful exposure. Anyway, I love maternity photography. I always encourage my moms to have some sort of maternity photos taken, even if they are low key at their own home. Those 9 (sometimes 10) months pass so quickly and it is such a beautiful, miraculous event. Can’t decide if a maternity session is right for you? Send me a quick shout and let’s talk about it!
