Durham Lifestyle Newborn Session :: Bright and Airy Lifestyle Newborn Photos with Dog
Oh, I love newborn photo sessions! They are always so special, and this one was no exception. I got to photograph a beautiful family and their adorable goldendoodle in their home. It was such a lovely shoot! The home was bright and light, which makes for a timeless backdrop and goes right along with my aesthetic.
The family had just welcomed their first child, a sweet baby girl, and they wanted to capture some precious moments of her first few days of life. They also wanted to include their furry family member, a playful goldendoodle named Josie.
When I arrived at their home, I was greeted by the family's warm smiles and a wagging tail. Josie was so excited to see me, and I could tell she was going to be a great addition to the shoot. We started with some family photos in the living room, where the natural light was perfect. The baby was sound asleep, and Josie was curious about the new addition to the family. We got some great family portraits with the new baby, as well as some with each parent, which I always try to capture.
Next, we moved to the main bedroom, where we switched the look up and swaddled her in a cute pastel pink swaddle that said her name. I took some close-up shots of the baby's tiny hands and feet, and some with the parents holding her. I think it is always so sweet to look back on these particular photos and remember how tiny they were. I think the cutest thing about baby Stella was the fact that she was breech, she was so excited to be able to stretch her legs out, and she laid comfortably all spread out since being squished for 9 months. Josie joined in the photos too, naturally.
After that, we went to the nursery and captured some more sweet moments with baby and family. I always like to take photos of baby in their crib - most of whom haven’t spent much time in their crib since being home. They always look so tiny! And if it is a crib that converts to a toddler bed, parents will be amazed that their baby was ever that small.
Overall, it was a wonderful newborn photo session. I loved capturing the love and joy of this beautiful family, and Josie was the perfect addition to the shoot. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to document these special moments, and I know the family will treasure these photos for years to come.
