{2014} Newborns :: Fuquay-Varina Newborn Photography

It is no secret, especially to my mother, that I am in love with the squishy-ness of newborn snuggles.  In fact, she told my husband that if I ever stopped photographing newborns that I would probably have to have more children to fill the gap.  So, in 2014 I really dedicated myself to trying to improve my newborn photography specifically.  Photography is an ever evolving field that I think always takes practice to perfect.  In doing that, you develop a certain style that works for you.  I have come to find out that my style is very simplistic, natural, and neutral-toned.  You try new poses and accessories.. some work - some don't.  Take notes of what worked well in a session and what didn't so you can always improve.  I had a goal in January to double the number of newborns that I photographed in 2013.. I met that goal and couldn't be happier.  I met a lot of great families along the way-- some I met during their maternity shoot, and some just the day of their newborn session.  I heard great birth stories and birth stories that had my jaw on the floor.  Some of those babies in 2014 I have already photographed again and they have grown so much, but still look so similar to their sweet, sleepy, newborn self.  It truly is an honor to see families grow and the fact that they choose me to document it is humbling.  So, without further ado, here is the collage of my newborns of 2014.  15 boys and 9 girls (1 set of twins) .  I hope 2015 is just as prosperous!
