This is definitely an example of keeping it in the family! :)  I love.. I mean LOVE when people refer me to their friends and family.  It is seriously the best compliment!  So, meet baby Kristen!  Kristen's dad is an identical twin of Jordan's dad! I am seriously honored to now have photographed 2 newborns in this extended family.. and hopefully more to come ;)  Without further ado, here is snuggly Kristen!

Most of my newborn shoots happen in a client's home, which is sometimes not the best location for natural light (which is what I prefer).  Luckily, I brought my softbox along to the shoot because the spot in the house where I set up shop was in a room with just 2 windows.  I wanted to show you what a picture in my camera looks like (SOOC = straight out of camera) and then what the final product ends up looking like.  I shot Kristen in RAW + JPEG so I could play with the lighting in RAW.  I try to not edit a portrait too much, but in Kristen's case (and newborns in general), the skin tends to be flaky, red, and bumpy, so I  smooth that out and try to make the skintone as even as possble.  I also like the added effect of having the blanket in the background faded. Overall, I am very pleased with the outcome!
